In 2013, the Les Gutter Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Les Gutter, a dedicated
treasurer of FAMOHIO for more than twenty years. Les’s financial expertise, attention to detail, and
strong dedication to the Ohio bleeding disorders community helped ensure the continued success of
FAMOHIO, Inc. In addition to Les’s financial expertise, he was motivated by a strong spirit of
volunteerism. It is to that dedication and spirit of giving that the Les Gutter Memorial Scholarship was
created to promote and inspire young persons with bleeding disorders to pursue their career goals
through post-secondary education.
The Les Gutter Memorial Scholarship applications have been reviewed, scored, and carefully evaluated by the FAMOHIO scholarship committee and…drumroll…the recipients are:
Rylee Deitsch Ohio Dominican University Accounting

Chloe Henninger Wright State University Elementary Education
Cassidy Lyninger Case Western Reserve Psychology
Bailey McGinnis Walsh University Government and Foreign Affairs
Tyler Miller Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics Specialized Technology

Each of the recipients are most deserving and honor the legacy of Les Gutter by working hard at their educational endeavors. The board of FAMOHIO offers sincere congratulations to these students.
The application for the 2022 Les Gutter Memorial Scholarship will be posted to the FAMHIO website at the beginning of 2022. Updates to the current scholarship process and new timelines will be explained in detail at that time.
Nine scholarships of $1,000 to $3,000 were awarded to the above recipients. Keep in mind, scholarship applications that are received in full with all requirements and questions carefully answered and with current supporting documents score higher in the evaluation process. Added attention is given to volunteer efforts and financial need.
